The other classification of cells is prokaryotic and eukaryotic. The major difference in between these is in the fact that eukaryotic cells hold their DNA in their nucleus, while prokaryotic cells have their DNA floating around.
Prokaryotic Cells: 1. Are small, single-celled organisms 2. Contains organelles such as flagellum, cell walls, cell membrane, cytoplasm, ribosomes, and nucleoids. 3. Live in nearly all environments, even exist in high temperature environment. 4. Prokaryotic cells are asexual. An example would be E. Coli.
Eukaryotic Cells: 1. Are larger, multi-cellular organisms. 2. Contain cell walls, endoplasmic reticulum and other membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria, golgi bodies, lysosomes, plasma membrane, ribosomes, cytoplasm, and chromosomes. 3. Reproduce in horizontal gene transfer. i.e. Plant Cell
